World Series of Poker Events


The opening of the World Series of Poker is always filled with dreams and anticipation, no-one knows who will win and that is what makes the whole event so exciting.

Below we have listed the first 10 events that make up part of the World Series and these are the events taking place from May 30th to June 5th. They include the Mixed Hold’em Limit and No Limit 3 day events that are always worth watching.

First Ten World Series of Poker Events

Event Number 1 is on May 30th and it’s the World Championship Pot-Limit Texas Hold’em which is a 3 day event 3 day event. The Buy-in is $10,000

Event Number 2A is on May 31st and it’s the No-Limit Hold’em 4 day event. The Buy-in is $1,500

Event Number 2B is on June 1st and its the No-Limit Hold’em Day.

Event Number 3 is on June 2nd and its the Pot-Limit Hold’em 3 day event. The Buy-in is $1,500

Event Number 4 is on June 2nd and its the Mixed Hold’em Limit and No-Limit 3 Day event. The Buy-in is $5,000

Event Number 5 is on June 3rd and its the No-Limit Hold’em w/Re-Buys it’s a 3 day event. The Buy-in is $1,000

Event Number 6 is on June 3rd and its the Omaha Hi-Low Split-8 or Better which is a 3 day event. The Buy-in is $1,500

Event Number 7 is on June 4th and its the No-Limit Hold’em it’s another 3 day event. The Buy-in is $2,000

Event Number 8 is on June 4th and its the World Championship Mixed Event a 3 day event. The Buy-in is $10,000

Event Number 9 is on June 5th and its the No-Limit Hold’em / Six Handed 3 day event. The Buy-in is $1,500

2007 World Series of Poker Winner

Jerry Yang was the winner of the 2007 World Series and boy does his story of how he got into the tournament inspire everyone to give it a go. He won a satellite tournament that cost him just $225 and during the course of the tournament he managed to beat 6358 other poker players to land the top prize.

Jerry made an honorable pledge before he got to the final table and that pledge was to donate 10% of any winnings to childrens charities including Feed the Children. Well it was a dream come true when he landed the $8.25 jackpot and his chosen charities received their donation.

Jerry has six children and was born in 1968, and before he goes all-in he always kisses pictures of his children which we have to say does appear to bring him great luck!
